The Notification for personal tax number required for shipments to Brazil

• Dear customers,
  Informed by carrier, according to UPU (Universal Postal Union) regulations, starting from 2020.1.1, all goods arriving in Brazil need to provide the recipient's personal tax number (CPF). Personal tax ID is usually 11 digits, or 11 digits plus sign, for example: 003.754.321-09. If it is less than 11 digits, it may be the wrong tax ID or the leftmost digit is 0 and it is automatically ignored. For example: 003.754.321-09, which may be written as 375432109 because the leftmost digit 00 is automatically ignored. Due to the current ambiguous requirements for the format of the tax ID number, the system does not make format requirements and length restrictions for the time being.
  This regulation will be implemented since 2020.1.1. The customs did not require it compulsorily for the first half of the month, but monitoring will be strengthened in the future.
